In a year of continuous surprise and adaptation, join us in celebrating 100 years of Anthroposophical Medicine.
With travel severely restricted during the pandemic, there is an impulse to have many smaller, regional gatherings in North America, South America and Asia. These will happen on the last weekend of the larger conference of the Medical Section of the School for Spiritual Science in Dornach, Switzerland. The Anthroposophic Health Association (AHA) is working to help coordinate these meetings.
Adam Blanning and colleagues will host a regional conference here in Denver, one of fourteen such conferences in the Americas: three in Canada, one in Ecuador, nine in the United States, plus a meeting hosted online for anyone who does not have the opportunity or desire to meet live with others.
Our conference will include the following activities:
We will stream one or two video recordings of lectures given in Dornach during the international conference, which will be available English: one titled "a spiritual look at the impulses of Anthroposophic Medicine" and another on "the history of the development of Anthroposophic Medicine" (a lecture by Peter Selg, Michaela Glöckler, Georg Soldner and Matthias Girke).
We will together study some of the content from the "Bridge Lectures," which will be the main study content for the Dornach conference. The following questions, relating to the Bridge lectures, are being shared worldwide: https://medsektion-goetheanum.org/en/anthroposophic-medicine/bridges/content/questions/#c4542. You can find those lectures in the book, Course for Young Doctors, or online for free at https://wn.rsarchive.org/Lectures/YoungDoctors/YngDoc_index.html, the final three lectures in the volume dated December 17, 18, and 19, 1920. Please remember to bring a printout or copy of the book if you will find this helpful. We will focus on the second lecture, titled "The Moral as the Source of World Creative Power" (Sept. 18, 1920)
At 12:00 noon, we will join the other regional groups across North American in a zoom call to connect all of the meeting participants together, say hello, and share impulses for the future.
After that we will break for lunch: please bring your own food, or be prepared to pick something up at a local restaurant. Food will not be provided. Water will be provided. We will have a 45-minute lunch break.
We will do some group eurythmy exercises with Glenda Monasch.
The meeting will be held outdoors, with masks and physical-distancing. We will hold good thoughts for clear, beautiful, September weather!
Please contact Judy Lucas, judylucaslmt@gmail.com, 303.523.0077 with any questions or need for further information. Also, please RSVP to Judy if you plan to attend so that organizers can plan accordingly (for appropriate seating and spacing). Please provide your name and email address so that we can send updated information as needed.
Thank you for helping us to build, tend, and foster therapeutic community and to look forward to this next century of healing work.
With warm greetings,
Adam Blanning, MD, AHA board president
