Sacred Encounter at the In-Breath of the Year
Special Event
Monday, December 21, 2020 - 7:00pm MST
Presenter: Mary Stewart Adams
An online Winter Solstice gathering designed as an interactive yet quiet engagement with the celestial events of this day, which include the standing still of the Sun at its Solstice moment, and the once-every-20-years Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn.
The cosmic harmony expressed in these two phenomena — the Sun's resting in quiet stillness while Earth completes its in-breath, just as the heralds of cosmic wisdom and cosmic memory encounter one another among the stars — can inspire a sense of holiness and wonder at the majesty of the unseen forces at work throughout the world and in our lives. By the time of our gathering, the exact moments of the Solstice and the Great Conjunction will have passed, so the intention is to gather in a mood of reverent expectation, to encounter one another in the way forward by sharing simple exercises in spirit recalling, spirit sensing, and spirit beholding.
Note that just as our original gathering was planned nine months ago at the time of Annunciation and the beginning of the spiritual New Year in March 2020, so is this gathering planned three years ahead of the 100th anniversary of the re-founding of the Anthroposophical Society at the Christmas Conference in 2023-24, as a tender beginning in preparation for the fulfillment of that 100-year rhythm, augmented by the unique celestial phenomena occurring at this moment in history.
To prepare, please consider those you have encountered along your path with anthroposophy, and bring pencil and paper for simple exercise.
NOTE: Due to this being a reverent one-moment-in-time event, we will not be distributing the archival video of it.
